DomainNews.com

For straight domaining news such as legal disputes, domain name announcements, and more official domaining news DomainNews.com is an optimal destination. Reading DomainNews provides a background to opinions and commentary in forums and blogs and helps you understand the groundwork of domains and especially the legality of domains and trademark infringements.
DomainNews is definitely worthy [...]

.TV Domains Now $15.99

If there was ever a time to take a swipe at a few .TVs, this is it.  Godaddy has lowered it’s already low price of $17.99 to $15.99.  That is quite a deal considering Name.com has them competitively priced with other registers for $35.

Netfirms Provided Good Service

I had an inquiry about a few domain names on my account and called Netfirms to resolve the matter. I talked to two customer service reps who both answered my questions directly and in a polite human fashion - as opposed to the non-helpful robotic answers you often get with customer service today. [...]

Websites.net Doesn’t Sell

The high bid for this premium name apexed at $7,100.  The owner had other ideas and had set the reserve at $100,000.  I’m really surprised there wasn’t more clamor on such a great name.  I was following this auction and the bidding was slow and no one ever made a serious attempt at it.
Meanwhile remodeling.mobi [...]

Best Place to Buy Domains

I made the switch to Name.com and outside of buying .tv domains at Godaddy, I’ve never looked back.
Name.com has the absolute top prices of any registrar and there are no promo codes necessary. The prices are upfront and center and extremely cheap for the mainstay domain extensions.
$5.99 .com
$5.99 .net
$7.99 .org
.ws is also $7.99 which [...]

Best Place to Search Domains

Moniker.com
I’ve never suspected them of taking a name (in over a year of searching at Moniker) that I had searched for but not registered. However, I have seen people claim the exact opposite. Also, the format is very simple and fast to use and the overall display has a nice presentation.
I do not [...]

.Info More Malicious

According to a recent article by Jordan Robertson, research by McAfee antivirus found the most dangerous domains to navigate (in terms of malicious code) are “.hk” (Hong Kong), “.cn” (China) and “.info” (information).

Here is the percentile of each domain found to be malicious:

19.2% - .hk

11.8% - .cn

11.7% - .info

This news waters the .info domain value, but the true [...]

The Scary .Web Extension

I do not want the .web extension to be approved.
.Web will not repeat the inadequacies of domain extensions such as .name, .me, and .asia.  .Web will pose a series threat to the value of the current extensions - even the .com and hand-tie serious domainers to spend even more money to claim a stake in [...]

Overachieving Names on Sedo

Here is the top 5 names at Sedo with very nice bids.
1. 9sports.com $10,000 EUR
2. socks5.com $1,100
3. toyster.info $500
4. firefox3.com $5,000 EUR
5. eis.biz $500
In search engine optimization, before the marketing and advertising or even the web design, what comes first and foremost is the web hosting.

PushToAuction.com

PushToAuction.com is yet another smart initiative from NamePros senior member DomainRaiders.com.  The primary premise is what many are always seeking to accomplish: send a domain to auction at Sedo.com - the largest auction in the domain resale market.  Domainers are eager to have their names in Sedo auction because Sedo is viewed by almost every [...]
